Storm Ciaran is expected to create serious disruption for much of London in the coming days.

The Met Office has issued two yellow weather warnings for the region for rain and wind starting on Wednesday, November 1 until the evening of Thursday, November 2.

What travel advice has Southeastern given for Storm Ciaran in London?

Southeastern has shared that the storm is "highly likely to disrupt services on Thursday 2 November."

The train company added that if "the storm continues as currently tracked" they will be introducing speed restrictions, especially on the Kent Coast routes.

Storm Ciaran is also expected to see disruption "late on Wednesday and throughout Thursday, particularly on our "Mainline routes" adding that other routes can not be ruled out.

The high winds is likely to see a risk to fallen trees and debris on tracks which could see some routes affected.

Aware of this, Southeastern has told travellers to "consider changing your travel plans or working from home on Thursday if you can."

If you do decide to travel, "it's highly likely that very early morning trains on our mainline routes will be cancelled, this is so the tracks can be inspected to ensure they are free from fallen trees and debris."

In terms of replacement transport, Southeastern has shared that if routes do close, replacement transport will not be available due to the likely impact on roads.

Thameslink has shared that "Network Rail are planning for speed restrictions to be in place across the network which will cause delay and lead to changes to the train service."
