A man has died after being hit by a bus in Merton earlier today.
Police were called at 11.15am today (Saturday 12) to reports of a crash involving a bus and pedestrian on Bishopsford Road near the junction with Wandle Road in Merton.
A man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The bus driver stopped at the scene and there has been no arrests.
Police are awaiting formal identification and confirmation that his next of kin have been informed.
A spokesperson for Merton Police said: “Police were called at around 11:15hrs on Saturday, 12 November, to reports of a bus in collision with a pedestrian in Bishopsford Road near the junction with Wandle Road in Merton.
“The pedestrian, a man, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
“We await formal identification and confirmation that next of kin have been informed.
"The driver of the bus stopped at the scene.
"There has been no arrest."
