A man has been sectioned under the mental health act after stabbing himself at a home in Colliers Wood.

Police forced entry into the home in Reynolds Close after being called by ambulance crews concerned for the welfare of someone inside at around 11.05am on Tuesday.

A man in his 30s was found with a stab injury - which is thought to have been self-inflicted.

He was taken to hospital.

His condition is not life-threatening.

The man has since been sectioned under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: "Police were called by LAS at 11:05hrs to Reynolds Close SW19 to a concern for welfare for an occupant.

"Officers forced entry and found a man in his 30s with a stab injury.

"He was taken to hospital; his condition is not life-threatening.

"The injury is thought to have been self-inflicted.

"The man has since been sectioned Section 136 of the Mental Health Act."
