  • London Fire Brigade estimates that seven hectares of wasteland, shrubs and school playing fields near Norbury were alight.
  • Fifteen fire engines and around 100 firefighters tackled the large grass fire near Turle Road.
  • Fire crews are expected to remain on scene this afternoon
  • Around 35 houses have been affected by the fire.
  • 19 residents were evacuated from their homes as a precaution.

  • London Fire Brigade was first called at 12.27pm and the fire was brought under control at 4.08pm.
