A PUB at the heart of a Southampton community has reopened following a £300,000 refurbishment.

Bosses at The Robin Hood in Sholing have promised locals a ‘great pub’, a move which they say is ‘long overdue’.

The pub, which dates back to the 19th Century, has been transformed internally and externally by independent pub operators Punch Pubs & Co with works including a refreshed garden area and new external signage in a bid to ‘put it back on the map’.

Also new to the pub are Management Partner Chris Hendricks and his General Manager Claire Naismith.

The pair say they are keen to reinvent the pub and give the community the local pub it deserves - one that offers delicious food, premium drinks and an authentic, vibrant atmosphere.

Chris told the Daily Echo: “”This is an incredibly exciting time for the team; we cannot wait to welcome guests back into the Robin Hood. This community is long overdue a great pub, and this is it. Forget what you may have previously known or experienced – this new look food, drinks and entertainment offers something for everyone and really needs to be experienced and enjoyed by all.”

Daily Echo:

There is something for everyone at the new look Robin Hood, from cosy corners to enjoy a pint in to space for diners to come together and share a meal.

The outdoor space has been overhauled, creating a spot for alfresco dining as well as enjoying the newly curated cocktails and speciality ales now available.

Senior Operations Manager for Punch, Rupert Reeves added: “We’re incredibly proud to have been able to significantly invest in this pub and bring it back to its best. It’s now somewhere for all and at the heart of its community.

Daily Echo:

“ Chris and Claire are the perfect team to ensure its success for many years to come.”

The refurbishment follows an accident in March which saw a car crash into the front of the pub. The area was cordoned off after a silver Range Rover caused damage.
