A woman was rushed to a major trauma centre after a crash involving a car and moped in Wimbledon.

The ambulance service was called to the scene on The Broadway shortly after 5.30pm on Friday, January 28.

Surrounding roads were closed for several hours by police, as paramedics treated the victim before taking her to hospital. 

No arrests were made.

A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 5.31pm yesterday (28 January) to reports of a road traffic collision on The Broadway, Wimbledon.

“We sent an ambulance crew to the scene, who arrived in under seven minutes.

“We treated a woman for injuries and took her as a priority to a major trauma centre.”
