The Lady Lever Art Gallery was founded by industrialist and philanthropist William Lever in 1922.

It houses some of the UK's finest art collections and the gallery's world-famous Pre-Raphaelite paintings.

It opens from 10am - 4pm Tuesday to Sunday and is free to visit.

2. Hilbre Island

Visit the Hilbre Island nature reserve and spend hours exploring the wildlife and caves.  

Walk across the sand at low tide and enjoy the views of North Wales and the River Dee.

3. Wirral Transport Museum & Heritage Tramway

Ride on the fully-restored heritage trams and see the collection of preserved buses at the museum. 

There is also a model railway and other fascinating memorabilia to look at, available to see for free. 

It is open every Saturday and Sunday from 1pm - 4pm and is open during the week at half term.

4. Birkenhead Park

Open since 1947, this historic park was the first publicly funded park in the world. 

It is a Grade I listed landscape and carries a Green Heritage Award.
