Merton Giving has launched its latest phase of funding to help charities further recover from the coronavirus crisis.

The National Lottery Community Fund has awarded £150,000 to Merton Giving, which will be used as grant funding to support charitable organisations as part of an emergency response to Covid-19.

Two funds have been launched: the Merton Giving Renewal Fund and The Merton Giving Pandemic Community Outreach Fund.

The Merton Giving Renewal Fund will have a guaranteed amount of a further £130,000 of donations received from donors including Merton Council, Clarion Futures, Wimbledon Foundation and the Moat Foundation and more.

The Merton Giving Pandemic Community Outreach Fund is focused on improving local engagement around health promotion including testing and vaccine confidence and convenience amongst key communities.

Wimbledon Times:

Diana Sterck, CEO of Merton Chamber of Commerce and Chair of Merton Giving said: “This new phase of funding will support charitable organisations on their path to recovery, sustainability and renewal, whilst continuing our commitment to support those striving to meet the immediate needs of residents most affected by the pandemic.

"We’re delighted that the new Merton Giving website will provide a simple gateway for organisations looking to apply for this funding and for residents and businesses wanting to make a donation and give to their local communities in other ways.”

Details of both funds, including guidance, criteria and timing are available on Merton Giving’s new website here.
