THIS salon in Colliers Wood had an 'extra special' reopening as they welcomed a bride as their first client back following the restriction ease.

On Monday, people in England returned to shops, outdoor restaurants and hair salons - marking an important moment on the social and beauty calendar.

Losing lengthy lockdown locks and reinvigorating beauty treatments were the priority for some as relaxed rules meant salons were able to treat customers for the first time since January 6.

Opening day for Kartee M Hair Salon in Colliers Wood was "all the more special" as they helped prepare a bride for her big day.

Kartee Munusamy, of Kartee M Hair Salon in Colliers Wood High Street, said: "As a busy local hair salon at the heart of a friendly, vibrant community, being closed and not being able to offer our services to clients for so long was very difficult.

"Our clients have been so supportive over lockdown and regularly contacted us to see if we were okay.

"One client made face masks for us and some even offered us money to keep the business going which of course we refused and fortunately we did not need it, but its the thought that counts.

"As soon as the government confirmed salons could reopen, we were inundated with calls and messages from clients who were delighted to finally be able to have their hair done.

"We are going to be incredibly busy but it has been great to do our jobs again and see our clients and catch up with their news.

"Having a bride getting ready for her wedding day at our salon made the day all the more special."
