The latest information relating to Covid-19 in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly has now been updated.

There have been no new hospital deaths recorded in today's figures, involving a patient testing positive for Covid-19.

The total number of Covid-related deaths at Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has stayed at 190 since Saturday, while at the Cornwall Partnership NHS Trust it is still 61.

The combined number of Covid-19 deaths in total in Cornwall's hospitals since the start of the pandemic remains at 251.

The overall number of deaths in Cornwall – including deaths in care homes and other settings – is now at 453 deaths in the 28 days after a positive test, with including one in today's figures .

The number of deaths simply with Covid-19 on the death certificate remains at 473, with 50 extra registered in the week leading up to February 12, the most recent date given. This figure is updated weekly on a Tuesday.

Nationally a further 127 people who tested positive for the Coronavirus (Covid-19) have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 83,250.

Patients were aged between 46 and 99 years old. All except one – aged 58 years old – had known underlying health conditions and their family has been informed.

The date of the deaths ranged from December 9, 2020 to February 28, 2021, with the majority being on or after February 24.

Of those, one was in the South West.

The overall UK figures show 104 more people to have died within 28 days of their first positive test result.

This takes the total number of UK deaths within 28 days to 122,953. These figures include people in care home and other settings.

As of 4pm today (Monday, February March 1) there have been eight new cases of Covid-19 recorded in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in the previous 24 hours. It is the second day in a row that the number has dropped to single figures.

The total number of cases in the local authority area since the start of the pandemic is now 13,659.

The seven-day rolling total of cases was 165 cases recorded in the seven days leading up to February 24. Data from the most recent five days is not shown due to being incomplete.

This represents a weekly rate of 28.9 cases per 100,000 people.

The number of people testing positive for coronavirus in the UK has increased by 5,455 in 24 hours.

This takes the total to 4,182,009 nationally since the start of the pandemic.

As of today (Monday, February March 1) 20,275,451 people in the UK had received their first Covid-19 vaccination dose, while 815,816 people had their second dose.
