Transport for London's drive for contactless travel has led to a small change in Oyster cards coming next month.
From the end of March, Oyster cards and products will no longer be available at c2c ticket officers.
Trainline company c2c announced the news, saying it was because their ticket offices use a ticket retailing system for Oyster that TfL no longer wishes to support, due to their support for contactless travel.
You will be able to use the ticket machines at our stations to top up your Oyster card, buy tickets and check balances, and you will also be able to use Oyster ticket stops to manage your Oyster card.
But if you wish to get a new Oyster card, you will need to use other vendors such as a local newsagent or via TfL.
c2c added: "For any assistance on issues with your Oyster card purchases you will need to contact TfL directly as our staff will no longer be able to assist you at c2c ticket office windows."
If you’re travelling in the London Zones 1-6 you can use a contactless card instead of Oyster – just look for the yellow Oyster card reader and don’t forget to touch in and out. You’ll be charged exactly the same fare.
c2c operates train running to and from London to Southend.
