A bar suspected of breaching Covid-19 restrictions is due to have its license reviewed.

Hertfordshire Constabulary has requested for a licensing review of Abaco’s Bar-2, on Whippendell Road, after numerous noise complaints and ongoing suspicions that the venue failed to follow Covid-19 regulations.

According to the constabulary, Abaco’s Bar is suspected to have broken Covid-19 rules three months in a row - in October, November and December.

However further information on how the venue may have broken restrictions has not been provided.

The licensing review request has also been issued after a number of noise complaints were received in January, February, September and November in 2020.

But the owner of Abaco’s has denied responsibility for the noise complaints, telling the paper they are “getting the blame for no reason”.

The owner has also said that they are trying their best to follow all Covid-19 restrictions that were enforced over the last year.

While the review date has not been set yet, the review is expected to be conducted towards the end of the month.
