The host of a large gathering which took place at an address in Chislehurst this weekend could face a £10,000 fine for breaching Coronavirus regulations, according to police.

Officers descended on Marlings Park Avenue on Saturday night (November 28), shortly before midnight, following calls from concerned residents about a mass-gathering.

On arrival, police said they dispersed "in the region of 60-80 people" from the gathering in a garage area at the address.

The event's organiser was located and warned he would face enforcement action, possibly including a fine of £10,000 under Coronavirus regulations.

Chief Inspector Neil Jeffs of the South Area Command Unit said: “This was a blatant attempt to breach the Coronavirus regulations and the behaviour of the organiser in this instance was unacceptable.

"We will continue to take tough action against those who selfishly fail to consider the impact of their actions which the majority of Londoners have followed admirably.”

A Met Police statement confirmed no arrests were made and no further fines issued.
