A man has sadly died after he was hit by a train at Wimbledon Station yesterday afternoon (November 23).
As the Wimbledon Times reported, emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident at the station after they received calls informing them around 4.31pm.
Paramedics and police first responders attended to the man, helped by station and railway staff, and managed to transport him to the major trauma centre at St George's Hospital.

On Tuesday morning, a spokesperson for British Transport Police (BTP), who were in attendance, told the Wimbledon Times he had since sadly passed away:
"British Transport Police were called to Wimbledon station at 4.31pm yesterday (24/11) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, and a man was taken to a nearby hospital where he sadly died as a result of his injuries.
"This incident is not being treated as suspicious."
London Ambulance Service (LAS) were also in attendance, sending paramedics including a crew from the air ambulance unit to the scene, as a spokesperson told the WT:
"We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a team leader, an advanced paramedic, a medic in a car and our hazardous area response teams.
"We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance trauma team."
The incident brought long delays to the rail network in the area surrounding Monday evening, with rail operators SWR offering replacement buses and alternate routes with pre-bought tickets.
