Police named the man they believed to be the victim in a fatal stabbing at a home in Croydon on Sunday (October 25).

Though the victim has not been formally identified, the Met Police who are investigating said they were “confident the victim is Giovanni Wallace.”

“His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by officers.

“Homicide detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command launched a murder investigation,” a spokesperson for the Met said earlier today (Wednesday, October 28).

As the Croydon Guardian reported previously, the fatal stabbing took place at a residential address on Clyde Road sometime before 7.41am, when the emergency services were called.

Despite the urgent actions of emergency first responders who found the victim, 29, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

On Monday, 26 October, Charlotte Kerr, 35, of Clyde Road, was charged with murder.

She remains in custody and will appear at Croydon Crown Court tomorrow (Thursday, October 29).
