POLICE are investigating after a body was found in a woodland. 

The body was found in the woods near Marion Road, Crawley, at about 10.45 this morning. 

The death is being treated as "unexplained" and the force is investigating its circumstances.

The discovery was made about 12 hours after a man was stabbed to death in the town.

Sussex Police said the two incidents are not being linked at this time.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "We were called to Marion Road, Crawley, around 10.45am on today after a body was found in nearby woodland. 

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. 

"There is no further information available at this time."

A murder enquiry has been launched after police a man was stabbed to death in Russell Way in the Three Bridges area of Crawley last night.

A 24-year-old victim was found with serious injuries shortly after 9pm.
