Surrey's Luna Park Drive-in Cinema will join forces with Thorpe Park to host Halloween-themed cinema experiences that adhere to coronavirus safety measures.

That's according to new information released by the popular drive-in cinema recently, who said their programme of thrilling and scary movies will be hosted throughout October at Thorpe Park in line with the venue's 'Fright Night' season.

The new programme will include "screening a number of Halloween classics and terrifying new blockbusters, from Get Out to The Exorcist to Hereditary and IT: Chapter 1," a spokesperson said.

Meanwhile, audiences will be encouraged to attend in fancy dress for Halloween with prizes being given out for the best costumes every night.

"With socially-distanced parking, remote order and delivery of Halloween-themed food and drink and state-of-the-art sound and visuals, including Luna’s brand-new in car wireless sound solution, it promises to be the ultimate drive-in cinema experience," the spokesperson added, underlining the Covid-19 safety regulations organisers are putting in place for the month-long drive-in programme.

Refreshments for movie-goers will furthermore be whisked directly to drivers' vehicles by a team of scooter delivery drivers.

George Wood, founder of The Luna Cinema, said: “We have been thrilled with the response to the launch of The Luna Drive-In Cinema that we were fortunate to be able to put on at a time when cinemas and outdoor events had to close.

"There’s still such a great collective feeling and you can still hear people singing and laughing in their cars.

"It made complete sense to extend into the Halloween season and put on these events featuring both classic and modern-day horrors."

Helen Bull, Divisional Director, Thorpe Park Resort, added her thoughts:
