The full updated list revealing the number of new coronavirus cases and the seven-day rate of Covid-19 for every council and borough has been released, showing over 200 new cases across south London.

For the seven days before August 18, 218 positive coronavirus cases were confirmed south west and south east London and north Kent.

But the most worrying rise was in the south west, where Richmond, Wandsworth, Merton and Kingston all saw rises in the rate of new cases of the virus.

In the south east, rates appear to be far more stable, with boroughs yoyo-ing relatively safely, although cases continue to emerge.

The stats, based on tests across the country, show the rate of new confirmed coronavirus cases over the last seven days, expressed per 100,000 population.

Richmond currently has the highest level of new cases in south London, with a rate of infection of 17.7, up from 10.1 last week following 22 new cases in seven days.

Wandsworth saw 39 new cases in the past week, brining its rate of new cases up to 11.8 from 8.5.

Merton's rate of infection showed a large increase from 3.4 to 10.2 after recording 21 new cases, whilst Sutton saw its rate rise from 2.4 to 6.8 after recording 14 cases.

Kingston upon Thames continued the trend in the south west, recording 22 new cases and rise in infection rates to 12.4.

Croydon's also rose from 3.9 to 6.5 cases per 100,000 with 25 new cases, and Epsom and Ewell recorded 4 new cases, brining its infection rate to 5.0.

In the south east of the capital, both Bexley (11 new cases) and Greenwich's (10) rate of new cases actually fell from 5.6 and 4.9 respectively to 4.4 and 3.5.

Lewisham also saw its rate fall from the region's highest of 9.9 to 5.9, recording 18 new cases, whilst Bromley recorded 11, meaning a small increase to 5.7.

Dartford's (6) rate of new cases is 5.3, whilst in Gravesham it is 8.4 (9).

The list has been calculated by the PA news agency and is based on Public Health England data published on August 21 on the Government's coronavirus online dashboard.

Data for the most recent three days (August 19-21) has been excluded as it is incomplete and likely to be revised.
