A woman was almost struck by a falling tree near Centre Court Shopping centre last weekend.
Abeer Matar, 45, from The Downs, says she was nearly 'smashed' by a tree after walking out of Tesco at 4 pm on June 13.
The 45-year-old says the incident could have ended up much worse if it wasn't for passers-by alerting her.
With seconds to spare, Abeer leapt out of the way before watching the tree collapse beside her.
Speaking to Wimbledon Times, Abeer Matar, said: "It was so scary.
"At that moment I was choked by what had just happened.
"If passers-by didn’t warn me, I would have definitely been hit as I turned around when it fell inches away.
"I started shaking and people were asking me if I was ok.
"I spent all evening anxious and kept thinking what if it hit me?
"I thought about my family and my daughters it was such a bad night.
"I am still shaken by this incident and can’t believe I escaped the harm of almost being smashed!
"I almost had a heart attack from the shock.
"How could this happen to me?"
