A 7-year-old has raised more than £3000 through his ten-day cycling fundraiser in aid of 'the amazing NHS'
Alexander Irvine, from Popular Primary School, Merton Park, set himself the challenge to cycle 100km in just ten days.
The determined young boy wanted to help raise money for St Georges Hospital to help them through 'these difficult times'.
Alexander who holds the hospital close to his heart, says he remembers how kind hospital staff were when he needed a cast for his arm.
Alexander’s mother, Isabella Irvine, said: "He loved doing the challenge and was so excited to see all the generosity coming in from our friends and family for this wonderful cause.
"We very much enjoyed the special times with him making up the 100km during early morning and evenings after we had finished our work at home.
"Both Alexander and his sister, Olivia, were born at St Georges.
"He remembers the times they were so lovely when they helped him when he needed a cast for his arm and also when he hurt his head and needed many stitches.
"He wanted to do something to help the nurses, the doctors and patients during this difficult time."
