Armed police and a helicopter were deployed in SE9 last night after reports of a man walking around with a large knife in the street.
Greenwich Police say officers, aided by an extensive police presence, arrested the man and have taken him into custody.
The Met were called to the disturbance on Froissart Road in Eltham at around 5pm, May 18.
It is reported that a man aged in his 30s was in the street wielding a large knife.
Firearms officers, local police and TSG joined the National Police Air Service (NPAS) at the scene in Eltham.
One man was taken to an east London police station where he remains in custody.
The Met said that no one was injured.
