Merton council have placed rainbow messages across the borough to thank hospital workers for their efforts during the outbreak.

The council organised 'Thank you NHS' messages to be painted across main routes to hospitals in a bid to show their appreciation to the NHS.

Messages can also be found in Morden, Mitcham and Wimbledon town centres, with the hopes of bringing joy to as many residents as possible.

Messages can be found in a range of locations, including; Raynes Park Health Centre, Nelson Hospital on Kingston Rd, Plough Lane, Merton High Street, Mitcham Fair Green, Wimbledon Piazza and Merton Civic Centre forecourt.

Councillor Martin Whelton said: “Merton is proud to support our NHS and key workers who have done so much in recent weeks to serve our community.

"Which is why we have installed seven rainbows at locations across the borough.

“We have placed them on main routes to hospitals and in town centres to show support and to come together as a community.

"To show our huge appreciation for their work during these unprecedented times.”
