Residents are being advised not to visit Townmead Household Waste and Recycling Centre as it has been closed by Richmond Council.

In the council's view, residents should refrain from Spring cleaning, throwing away clothes or furniture as it is not deemed to be essential under Government guidelines.

In addition, Richmond's bulky waste service collection has been suspended in a bid to protect the public and staff from the Coronavirus outbreak.

Instead, people are being asked to provide plans - in the coming weeks, if they want to remove any bulky items.

This is also aimed at preventing people from requesting removal services from their place of business or homes.

The suspension will be reviewed in the coming weeks in line with Government and Public Health recommendations.
