A man died in a house fire in Morden yesterday evening.
Three fire engines and around 18 firefighters and officers were called to the incident on Kingsbridge Road at 6.20 pm.
Firefighters found the body of the man within a room on the ground floor of the two-storey terraced house.
He was pronounced dead by London Ambulance Service at the scene.
Another woman left the property before firefighters arrived and was taken to hospital by ambulance services after suffering from smoke inhalation and shock.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
