School pupils have been from Gotham to Krypton and back in a superhero special.
Youngsters at St James' C of E Infant School, in Whitehaven, have been learning all about superheroes since they returned to school back in January.
And it culminated in a special superhero day to mark everything they had learned with children also donning their favourite hero's attire for the event.
Spiderman, Supergirl and Ironman were just some of the costumes on display as the youngsters had a brilliant time.
Children in the reception class were set challenges by Batman, Magneto and Aquaman to investigate light and dark, magnets and floating and sinking.
Assistant head teacher, Steph Sapsed, said: "Our children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and learnt about concepts far beyond their years like displacement and how magnets attract and repel."
