A Colliers Wood burglar has been put behind bars thanks to a police officer's "expansive local knowledge."

Following a burglary in the area, Officers from the Colliers Wood Safer Neighbourhood Team conducted house to house enquiries.

A Met spokesman said: "During their investigation, one local resident had captured the suspect on his private CCTV.

"In viewing it, one of the PCs positively identified him with his expansive local knowledge.

"Moving quickly to arrest the law breaker after the crystal clear CCTV revealed his face, he was quickly arrested and charged."

James Fasida, of Brangwyn Crescent, pleaded guilty at court and also pleaded guilty to three other burglaries.

He was sentenced to 32 months in prison.
