Police are appealing for help in identifying several men connected with violence that took place at the Crystal Palace-Aston Villa football match on August 31.

Images of the six men police are hoping to identify were published by the Met on Saturday (January 18).

The disorder happened at Palace ground Selhurst Park in Croydon last summer.

Towards the end of the match, the referee disallowed a goal scored by Aston Villa.

Soon afterwards, police described how "a number of Aston Villa fans ran onto the area near the pitch, attacking stewards and later police".

A number of individuals were arrested after the incident.

Police now hope to identify the people in the latest pictures from the match.

Detective Sergeant Matt Simpson from the Met's Public Order Investigation Team said:

"People go to football matches for a good time, not to witness or experience violence.

"It is unacceptable that this happened and with the public's help we can find those who were prepared to behave in this way.

"I urge anyone with information to call us on 020 824 693 86 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
