Police in Kew are advising residents to make their homes more secure following a series of burglaries that have been taken place.

According to reports the burglaries predominantly took place recently in the late afternoon and early evening on Marksbury Avenue and Chilton Road.

The burglars used the rear entrance to access the properties and were able to leave with jewellery, clothing and credit cards.

Officers have published tips and advice on social media which they believe can help to prevent burglar's from entering houses.

Some tips include keeping side gates locked, leaving a light on - particularly during winter months and to gravel driveways and paths so that burglars do not leave the property undetected.
