The former house and private gallery of late art critic and author Brian Sewell is being transformed into nine different homes.

Located on Leopold Road in Wimbledon Village Caley House is being developed by West Eleven.

The company's CEO and Founder, Will Herrmann, called it a "remarkable building".

"We spotted the potential to renovate the space into multiple homes, whilst conserving the original features of the building," he said.

"The beautiful gardens surrounding the site will make stunning communal space for future residents and we’ll be working again with Jo Cowen Architects to ensure the homes will be to a high standard for comfortable and modern living, along with a historic address.”

Sewell has previously been described as "Britain's most famous and controversial art critic" by The Guardian while the Evening Standard called him the "nation’s best art critic".
