A homelessness charity and beer sellers were among the winners at last night's Kingston Awards 2019.

The gala dinner and awards ceremony for organizations and businesses in the running for awards took place at at Raven’s Ait in Surbiton on Thursday evening (October 10).

In total, 13 awards were handed out to some of the most impressive businesses, entrepreneurs and organisers the borough has to offer.

The biggest winner on the night was surely Pangea Connected Limited and its founder Dan Cunliffe, who scooped an incredible three awards.

Pangea are a telecommunications provider based in the heart of Kingston, and were contacted for comment by the Comet.

On Thursday their three-gong haul included the most anticipated award of the night for Best Business of the Year, plus Entrepreneur of the Year for Mr Cunliffe, and Best Small Business of the Year.

Elsewhere at the ceremony, beer sellers 7000 Jars of Beer edged their way past renowned record store Banquet Records to win the Love Your Local Retailer Awards.

The representatives from 7000 Jars, whose pride themselves on stocking small batch, indie beer producers, thanked yeast during their acceptance speech.

Meanwhile, Fortunella Cafe won the Food and Beverage Award, while The White House Nursing Home in New Malden were awarded the Customer Service Award.

After a remarkably successful year supporting rough sleepers in the borough, Kingston Churches Action on Homelessness (KCAH) were congratulated on their efforts, winning Best Charity or Social Enterprise.
