Former Millwall defender Kevin Muscat has openly thrown his hat into the he ring for the vacant managers role at The Den.
Muscat played 53 times for the Lions between 2003-05, and played an instrumental role in the famous 2004 FA Cup run.
The Aussie was recently released from his role as manager of Melbourne Victory which he held since 2013.
As a manager, Muscat helped Melbourne to a A-League Premiership double in 2015 and was called up to serve as members of Australia’s coaching staff for the Confederations Cup in 2017.
Speaking to Fox News Muscat openly expressed his desire to succeed Neil Harris as Lions boss:
“Millwall is actually a unique football club,” Muscat said.
“We made the FA Cup final, I was captain there. I had a great time there.
“At this point in time, they haven’t got a manager and I am looking for work so read between the lines.
“I’m available.
“I haven’t spoken to anybody yet but obviously I have ambitions to be a career coach and if that becomes an opportunity I will jump at it.”
