Police issued this advice following the string of crimes.

"To help prevent yourself from becoming a victim, ask yourself the following, is my garden fence easy to jump over," the message read.

"Is there something that could easily be used to help jump over the fence? Is the side gate unlocked or is it east to climb over?

"If you answered any of those questions with yes, then you need to act until your answer is no.

"Work with your neighbours to come up with solutions together and think like a burglar when you look at your property to identify weaknesses."
