Police released the image of a man and are appealing for information on his identity after a woman was sexually assaulted in Epsom.

The assault took place on July 28, just before 1am, at the Be At One Bar on Epsom Square.

An investigation is underway to identify and locate the suspect.

The man is described as short in height but of a heavy build, wearing a short dark hair, jeans and baggy shirt.

A number of enquiries have already been carried out and police said they believe the man seen in the released image "has information that is key to helping us understand what happened."

Police Constable Robert Tracey added a personal appeal to the public for help with the investigation into the terrifying assault:

"We are grateful for the help the public have already given us with this investigation.

"We are looking to identify this man as we hope he may have information that will help with our investigation.

"If you know who they are, please come forward and speak to us.

"We are still keen to speak to anyone who was at the bar or in the area of Epsom Square between 11pm on July 27 and 2am on July 28."

If you can help, please call police on 101 (999 in an emergency) quoting reference PR/45190081441.
