A teenager from Greenwich has been charged with the murder of a 16-year-old boy, Alex Smith.

Police were called to an address in Camden on August 12 to reports of a stabbing.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Healy said: “We believe the victim was chased around the square by a number of suspects prior to being stabbed a number of times.

“The suspects made off in a vehicle which was discovered burnt out nearby. Another vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was also found burnt out some distance away.”

Arif Biomy, 19, of Wickham Lane was arrested on suspicion of murder at an address in Wembley on August 18.

Another boy from north London was also arrested and the two were charged with the boys murder on August 19.

The two boys will appear in court this afternoon.

Witnesses described the group "screaming and laughing" as they pursued the teenager, who was heard shouting "Help me" before collapsing near the doorstep of a family home.

Three other men, aged 18, 20 and 23, who were also arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail until mid-September.
