A NOODLE warning has been issued after takeaways were found to be contaminating them with eggs.

The alarm was raised after takeaways in Worthing and Lancing sold noodles containing traces of egg to undercover trading standards officers who told them they had egg allergies.

Trading Standards Manager Peter Aston said: “Spot checks will continue to be taken from other sellers around the county.

“We are going to be contacting takeaways likely to be selling noodle dishes, advising them of the steps they should be taking to stop cross-contamination.”

West Sussex Trading Standards believes the contamination came from utensils used to prepare egg dishes or that the ingredients themselves had been in contact with egg.
