Brentford team-mates Craig Pead and Lee Thorpe succumbed to mounting pressure on Saturday when they had a bust-up - and they were still arguing four days later.

The former Walsall and Coventry midfielder showed a lot of bottle by giving strapping striker Thorpe some verbals when he lost the ball during Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Hereford.

But Pead explained: "There are no problems. The argument we had on Wednesday was just good-natured, minor stuff about putting up curtains - we share a flat in Feltham.

"I had a go at Lee on Saturday for what I thought was a poor lay-off.

"We had a few words because we are both passionate players, but it was done and dusted very quickly. It is just as well Lee and I are mates. He is a big bloke and not the type you should upset!"

The 26-year-old, who helped Walsall gain promotion last season and was in the PFA League Two select side, added: "This run of three defeats in a row is just a blip.

"We have got to keep our heads and not put added pressure on ourselves.

"It will help if the Brentford fans don't give us stick. We need them to be patient and keep behind us."
