A power cut at Wimbledon station is causing confusion for commuters.

People took to Twitter at about 8am this morning to share pictures of empty notice boards and dark platforms.

While some aren't too fussed about the change, there are a few who are worried about the ability - or lack thereof - to tap in and out with their Oyster Card.

But the problem doesn't seem to be isolated to just the station.

Replying to some concerned commuters, the official Twitter account for the District line said: "I'm sorry you were unable to touch in at Wimbledon.

"We're looking into the gate problem.

"Staff at Whitechapel (the commuters destination) will be able to assist you to touch out."

It is unclear how long the power outage at the station, which is managed by South Western Railway, will last for.
