Police are deploying “significant resources” into the search for a university student from Sutton who went missing nearly a week ago.
Daniel Williams, 19, is a Reading University student who has not been since 12am last Thursday (January 31).
He was on a night out at its Whiteknights Campus before the second-year computer science undergraduate disappeared, according to the Reading Chronicle.
Efforts to find him have now included members of the Berkshire Lowland Search and Rescue, which works in partnership with Thames Valley Police, combing large areas.
Mr Williams’ friends and other Reading University students held a vigil for him at Whiteknights Campus, where he was last seen, on February 4.
Comprehensive enquiries from Thames Valley Police have included house-to-house visits, open countryside searches and building checks.

Superintendent Stan Gilmour, Local Policing Area Commander for Reading, said: “We are continuing our efforts to attempt to locate Daniel as we remain extremely concerned for his welfare, as are his family. We are supporting them and keeping them updated of any developments in our missing person investigation.
“We would like to thank the members of the community who have reported possible sightings of Daniel to police. Unfortunately none of the sightings have been positively identified as being Daniel.
“Therefore significant resources are being deployed to our searches which are ongoing in the area of the university and further afield. We continue to ask anyone who believes they have seen Daniel to contact police immediately.”

Mr Williams is thought to have been at Reading University’s 3Sixty student union bar before he went missing, the Reading Chronicle reports.
He is white, 6ft tall with a slim build and has blue eyes with short light brown hair.
He was last seen wearing black or blue jeans, a black hooded top and black shoes, while wearing a black t-shirt underneath with a “distinctive” white motif on the front.
The Reading University student’s family are from Sutton.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts are urged to call Thames Valley Police’s 24-hour enquiry centre on 101, quoting the reference URN 1307 31/1.
