Pictures have emerged of kids and adults alike taking to snow-dusted parks and frozen ponds in Wimbledon Common to revel in the cold weather more than 60 years ago.

Following the warnings of the 'Siberian snow bomb', family history company 'Ancestry' took a look back through its archives and discovered a collection of fascinating images.

Now those snow covered pictures have been made available for all to enjoy.
