One of the "unsung heroes" of the Wimbledon Village Stables has been recognised for her hard work and dedication.

Poppy Zafia Graves served a two-year apprenticeship at WVS having had some experience helping on a small yard on Saturdays.

Known for her great attention to detail and high standard of work, Poppy was nominated for the 2018 Haddon Training British Grooms Apprentice Award and was recently named the winner.

Nominated by stable manager Natasha Moore,Poppy came highly recommended.

“Poppy excelled during 2018 and is well respected by the rest of the team for her hard work and dedication and, by winning this award," Ms Moore said.

"Poppy will have learnt that hard work pays off and will be motivated to continue to work hard and develop her skills further."
