Colliers Wood could be getting a new medical centre.

Octopus Healthcare is hoping to submit a planning application later this year that, if successful, would bring the Colliers Wood GP surgery main site and its branch site at Lavender Fields together into a single space at the current Merton Vision charity’s centre in Clarendon Road.

Tony Coke, primary care business development manager at the healthcare investor said: “We pride ourselves on bringing new first-class state-of-the-art healthcare facilities to local communities and are very excited to present our plans to the residents of the local area.

"We’d like to encourage as many local residents and business owners to come along and view our plans for this exceptional new facility and to ask any questions they may have."

It is intended that the new three storey centre will comprise a GP surgery with 13 new consulting rooms, four treatment rooms as well as space for other services.

It will be capable of supporting up to 12,000 patients and it is hoped that the increased capacity will reduce waiting times.

Merton Vision will also occupy the ground floor of the building.

Should the application be successful, Octopus Healthcare intends to begin work on site in the summer of 2019 with the new facility opening in autumn 2020.
