There was more than just good health on the line when a group of runners took on a quarter marathon recently.
The Wimbledon Windmilers hosted its inaugural autumn quarter marathon in an effort to raise money for two charities.
The running and triathlon group did just, racking up £2,000 for the Wimbledon Guild and Stem4.
On race day, more than 200 runners representing different clubs from around the country turned up to run the picturesque two-lap course on Wimbledon Common.
Windmiler Martin Dickson came in first in a time of 39 minutes and 59 seconds for the 10.55km run, followed by fellow club members Nick McKay, who finished in 40:35, and Nathan Andrews, who was third in 40:53.
Windmiler Julia Donovan was the first lady to finish in 45:07, followed by Gill Bland, from Harrow AC, in second in 45:22, and Lisa Hale, from Sandhurst Joggers, finishing third in 46:41.
