A court has ruled that a Mitcham brothel will be shut for the next three months.
Following reports about men acting suspiciously and visiting the house at odd times of the day and night, Merton Council and the police teamed up to investigate.
This led tot he realisation that ladies of the night were indeed operating out of the home.
The council applied to Wimbledon Magistrates Court last week for a premise closure order of three months, which was granted that same day.
Cabinet member for community safety, engagement and equalities, Councillor Edith Macauley, said: āIām pleased to see the council, police and residents all working together to take swift action to get this brothel closed down.
"I encourage residents to keep coming forward to report crime and play their role in keeping our communities safe.ā
