Two police officers and an elderly man have been taken to hospital after a car crash in Downham.

The crash happened on Bromley Road around 11.20am where two police dogs were also taken to vets with minor bruising.

A marked police dog unit was responding to an emergency call before crashing into a car being driven by a man in his 80s.

None of the people involved suffered life-threatening or life-changing injuries, according to a police spokesman.

Officers from the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards have been informed.
