Workers are waking up to the news that a swarm of trains are being cancelled after a vehicle hit a bridge in Welling.
Commuters are urged to uses buses between Dartford and Lewisham after the railway bridge was struck earlier this morning.
Lines have reopened and engineers say no damage was caused but National Rail has warned of "delays, alterations and possible cancellations" during rush hour.
Trains are now running via Welling and the lines between Barnehurst and Eltham have reopened but heavy disruption is expected.
Commuters travelling between central London and south-east London are advised to check available trains before starting their journey.
