If you noticed a group of mothers descend on Wimbledon Common recently, then you weren't alone.

In an effort to raise awareness about post-natal depression, a sponsored baby buggy push was organised and it seems to have done the trick.

The sun shone as eager parents and families took part in a warm up, followed by the main event; the 5k walk and buggy push around the park.

Organised by the Puddle Ducks South West London, the day raised £500 for the National Childbirth Trust.

Cathy Weller, co-owner of Puddle Ducks said: “We were delighted to be able to get involved with the NCT Big Push.

"Post-natal depression is very common and yet there is still a stigma attached to it, so campaigns like The Big Push are really important to get the word out that there is help available.

“Swimming is an activity that positively encourages bonding between a baby and their parents providing relaxation as well as having fun, which makes the NCT a cause very close to our hearts.”
