More than 350 budding young authors took part in this year's Wimbledon Bookfest as they attempted to pen the best 'monsters' story they could.
The group of girls and boys flocked to the New Wimbledon Theatre last week where the winners of the 'young writers competition' was announced.
All in all, nine students from eight different school took out prizes in the junior and senior categories.
The overall winner was Polly Cameron from Putney High School who won with her short story titled ‘Medusa’.
The event's director, Fiona Razvi said: "What better way to launch our BookFest children’s programme than with a celebration of our borough’s talented new writers, in the company of the incomparable Chris Riddell.
"Huge thanks to our supporters for a brilliant event."
