There is a little less than a month to go until Wimbledon Bookfest is back.

With headline appearances from Graham Norton and cricket star Shane Warne, it is sure to be an exciting time at Wimbledon Common.

But in a coup for organisers, a new agreement with the University of Roehampton will see an extra sprinkling of entertainment added to the event.

The five-year-deal to become the principal sponsor of the Bookfest will include things such as discussions with school kids about higher education while students at the university will be offered paid and voluntary placement opportunities.

Fiona Razvi, festival director for Wimbledon BookFest, said it was a very exciting time for all involved.

“We are delighted to be building so significantly on a relationship that has reaped so much for the Festival already in terms of speakers, partnership on education projects and student involvement," she said.

"Education is at the heart of the Festival’s work and the University are a key driver on this.

"The confirmation of a five year partnership with University of Roehampton will significantly enhance Wimbledon BookFest both in our content and audience reach."

The event will run for 11 days beginning of October 4.
