Brockley artists will attend a meet and greet at a Lewisham gallery as part of a series of events to promote the work of creatives from the area.

Glenn Mottershead and Kaori Homma, will appear in an Artist Meet and Greet event on August 31 , the latest in a series hosted by Casilda’s Nice Things in PLACE/Ladywell, Lewisham High Street.

The evening will be an opportunity to speak with the artists and buy original works, as well as limited editions and cards.

Filmmaker and photographer Glenn Mottershead creates art with a journalistic twist, using his background in drama, documentaries and commercial television to detail London life.

His abstract photography, which will be available at the Meet and Greet, experiments with cityscapes and skylines.

Glenn, who is the founder Colloquial Collective, said: “These works are not just for placing on a wall, they are for taking down and holding as a map, looking at the detail and letting the current on the canvas take you elsewhere.”

Kaori Homma, the co-founder of Art Action UK who support the victims of disasters, specialises in Aburidashi, or 'fire-etching’ which involves applying lemon juice to paper to mark the desired image, she then sears that image into the paper.

Homma’s work includes pieces considering the phrase ‘playing with fire’ in the context of the 2011 Fukushima nuclear disaster.

The event begins 6pm and tickets are now available here
