The Merton branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society has received a donation for £1,550 from The Screwfix Foundation.
The money from the foundation, which supports projects to fix, repair, maintain and improve facilities for people in need, will be used to adapt the bathroom of a Merton resident suffering from multiple sclerosis (MS).
Chair of the Merton branch of the Multiple Sclerosis Society, Alice Thacker, said: “We are very grateful to The Screwfix Foundation for donating these much needed funds to support our charity.
“The Multiple Sclerosis Society equips people affected by MS and their families to take control of their lives.
“The funding will help us adapt a bathroom for a member of the Merton branch who is unable to lift her feet over the sill of the existing shower cubicle, which in return will reduce the number of falls.
“We’d like to thank everyone who was involved in the fundraising – it’s been a great help to us.”
